PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an introduction assisting tool having a side hole provided thereto which can prevent a damage on a wall of a tubular organ when a medical tool is introduced within the tubular organ through the side hole and then the introduction assisting tool is removed from the tubular organ while maintaining the medical tool within the tubular organ.SOLUTION: An introduction assisting tool 11 having a side hole is provided with a tubular body 13 which is inserted into a tubular organ of a patient. On a peripheral wall of the tubular body 13, there is provided a side hole 25 having a size for allowing a medical tool T to be passed through. The medial tool T inserted into the tubular body 13 can be extended outwardly from the tubular body 13 through the side hole 25 of the tubular body 13. The tubular body 13 includes a main tubular body 21 and a distal tubular body 23 which is located on a distal side of the main tubular body 21 and has an outer diameter that is smaller than that of the main tubular body 21, in which a side hole 25 is provided to the distal tubular body 23.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
