PURPOSE:To obtain high charging efficiency when an engine is operated at a high speed with a large load, by gradually decreasing the width of a branch path from the upstream end of the branch path toward an intermediate part in the direction of an axial line of the branch path. CONSTITUTION:At operation of an engine at a high speed and large load with a large amount of intake air, a rotary valve 25 is opened. Flow resistance of a branch path 24 is smaller as compared with flow resistance in a path between the first side wall face 14a and a side wall 17, and a point end part 13 of a partition 12 is positioned in almost the central part between side wall faces 17, 18, consequently an amount of the second mixture flowing in through the path 24 is larger than the amount of the first mixture flowing in along an upper wall face 20 of a volute part A. A width of the path 24 is formed narrower from the point end part 13 of the partition 12 toward the downstream and a flow speed of the second mixture is increased. The second mixture flows to diagonally collide with an upper side of the first turning mixture, and the first mixture deflectively flows in the downward direction into a combustion chamber 4. |
