The tap has at least one first detector (D1) establishing the presence of a part of the body of a person near to the tap and transmits to the electronic operating circuit (36) an operating impulse which is addressed to a first commutation circuit. In response to this impulse the commutation circuit causes a start of the electromechanical device and then an automatic stop for the supply of a determined amount of water. The electronic operating circuit has at least one second commutation circuit which, in reply to an operating impulse, activated by user, causes the electromechanical device to start to function for the continuous supply of water. In response to a stop impulse, activated voluntarily by the user, the electromechanical device to start to function for the continuous supply of water. In response to a stop impulse, activated voluntarily by the user, the electromechanical device stops in order to interrupt the continuous output of water.
