A combustion and ash-removal grate consisting of horizontal parallel bars (1) placed side by side and resting on supporting and rolling rails (2). The bars are interconnected by chain links (3) linked to control bars (4) and actuators (5). The bars may be rotated by imparting a linear reciprocating motion to the resulting bar array relative to the supporting rails. Said grate is used to burn various homogenous or heterogenous solid materials which may contain non-combustible components.
