The print block carrier is preferably a print plate (2) with at least one laser source (7) emitting a laser beam. A modulator (10) modulates the beam. A transmitter, preferably in the form of a rotating mirror arrangement, transmits the beam along an exposure line to the plate (2) which can be transported step-wise perpendicular to the line. The transmitter has several transmitter organs (4) distributed at least over the length (B) of the line. Each of these is allocated to a section of the exposure line to the print plate (2) which extends at least in the direction of the line.
