The invention relates to a polyvinyl acetate resin composition comprising (A) a hydrophilic polyvinyl acetate resin which has been rendered soluble or dispersible in water by partial hydrolysis (saponification) or introduction of hydrophilic groups, (B) a hydroxy fatty acid compound having not less than 6 carbon atoms and (C) a plasticizer.
