PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress frictional torque from increasing and lubricating oil from leaking even if wear is advanced in an oil seal. SOLUTION: In an oil seal 2 provided with a seal lip 5 which is cantilever- supported movably in the inside and outside radial directions, the inner peripheral surface of the seal lip 5 is provided with a reduced-diameter slanted surface 51 which is reduced in diameter in those areas ranging from a root side to a free end side and brought in contact with a rotating shaft and a increased- diameter slanted surface 52 which is increased in diameter in those areas ranging from the mid-course of the reduced-diameter slanted surface 51 to the free end side. Then the diameter-reduced slanted surface 51 is formed so that the amount of increase due to wear of a contact width against the rotating shaft 1 is restricted. |
