In an improvement in or modification of the invention of parent Specification 1,151,085, the feet 45 each comprise a socket 46 engaging a ball ended pillar 36 clamped to a support plate 34 of the deflectable support member connected to the vehicle end beam, and the nut 21 engages a cage 41 bearing on a seating 39 on each support 36. The length of the device is adjusted by rotation of the nut 21, then the spring force is set by screwing the feet 45 through the plate 48. The cage 41 has a bar 44 extending upwardly and forwardly to guide a foot 45 back to its pillar 36 after a horizontal deflection of the coupling arm. |
