Continuously operating roasting system - has automatic food turning mechanism and has moving food containers passing over heated roasting plates

The roasting food is drawn over the heated roasting plate (1) of the continuously operating roasting appts. by entrainment members spaced out along endless conveyor chains and designed as grid or basket like food containers (2) which rest on the roasting plate (1). These transport food containers (2) are swivel mounted on the drive chains (5) so that the roasting food is automatically turned as it moves along the appts. Since the food is stored in containers having comparatively large opening it can be moved along without sticking whilst at the same time being held in intensive direct heat contact with the heated roasting plate. The container (2) are pref. made of a row of parallel rods (3) or wires and are attached to the conveyor chains (5) by means of axial bolts (7) in the front upper region of the side cheeks (6).
