PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the base cloth of a sack of air bag device from breakage or seam dislocation when the sack is spread. SOLUTION: Along a mounting hole 35 for mounting of a front pillar, a shock absorbing part 38 to absorb the shock generated at spreading of a sack of air bag device is formed in that part of the sack 16 situated near an inflator 14. The shock absorbing part 38 has a folded-back part sewn by a ruptural thread 44 which goes in rupture when the sack 16 is spread on the outside of the sewn part 42 of base cloth 17 generated by a sewing thread 19, and the impact load of gas pressure applied to the sewn part 42 of the base cloth 17 is reduced through rupturing of the thread 44 at spreading of the sack of the air bag device.
