<p>To replace a conventional wiring harness of a vehicle, the invention proposes remote switching employing a master computing unit (10) communicating with slave units (12, 14, 16, 18, 20) which are distributed about the vehicle in the vicinity of the equipment to be energized. The slave units (12, 14, 16, 18, 20) additionally transmit back to the master unit (10) information on faulty equipment, enabling the master unit (10) to provide the driver with a visual indication and identification of an electrical fault. The slave units (12, 14, 16, 18, 20) also include A/D converters to send in digital form to the master unit information derived from sensors such as temperature and pressure sensors.</p> |
