<p>PURPOSE:To easily process succeeding sheet materials, by making a route switching device to operate responsively to an abnormality detecting signal and continuing the drive of a carrying means until sheet materials succeeding to the sheet material, from which an abnormal condition is detected, have com pletely passed through a route switching device. CONSTITUTION:When a discharge paper detecting sensor 13 does not detected transfer paper P1, the driving of fixing rollers 11A and 11B, a photosensitive drum 7, and a carrying belt 9 are first stopped and transfer guides 5A and 5B are secondly controlled so as to face to a tray 8. Since resist rollers 4A and 4B are still rotated under this stage, the transfer paper P2 held between the rollers 4A and 4B is discharged to the tray 8 during the period. Immediately after completing the discharge of the transfer paper P2, the resist rollers 4A and 4B are stopped and the transfer guides 5A and 5B are restored to their original positions, and then, the abnormal condition is informed to the operator through error display.</p> |
