PURPOSE:To form a thermally sprayed layer free from falling of chrome grains in a thermally sprayed layer and excellent in wear resistance, by granulating a superfine ferrochrome powder into large-sized matter as ferrochrome for thermal spraying and by mixing the above with a self-fluxing alloy. CONSTITUTION:As powdered material for thermal spraying, lumpy ferrochrome is crushed into a superfine state of about 1mum. The resulting superfine powder is granulated into a size of 10-88mum, and then an Ni-Cr self-fluxing alloy is mixed with the above large-sized granulated matter of ferrochrome so as to be formed into a ferrochrome powder for thermal spraying. By using this ferrochrome powder for thermal spraying, deterioration in wear resistance due to falling of ferrochrome grains from the thermally sprayed layer can be obviated.
