PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a memory by storing the periodical train of varying quantities of inter-grating coordinates, periodical train of inter-grating coordinates, and picture element values corresponding to the inter-grating coordinates in tables and processing by referring to the tables when a picture is enlarged or reduced. CONSTITUTION:The output of a counter 200 which is updated at every prescribed period synchronously to clocks 201 incorporated in a picture calculation device 107 is supplied to a selector 202 and picture calculation circuit 205. The selector 202 reads out prescribed values from a feature entry table 210 and offset register 211 at every counter period and tentatively stores the summed values of adders 203. The summed values are added to the coordinates of an original picture at an adder 204 and the results of the addition are sent to the circuit 205. The circuit 205 decides the coordinates of a converted picture element from the summed values sent from the selector 202 at every clock and the values from a U-table 212 storing the periodical train of inter-grating coordinates. In addition, the circuit 205 decides the picture element values corresponding to the inter-grating coordinates from a picture element corresponding table 213 and outputs processed picture data to a picture data buffer. Thus the packaging efficiency of a memory is improved. |
