The first retainer is connected rigidly with a pivot axis (7), which is located on both sides of the seat frame beneath the gap formed between the back rest and the seat. The first retainer with the back rest folded over is pivotable through the then enlarged gap between the back rest and the seat around the pivot axis (7) from its rest position into its usage position and vice versa. In the usage position, the first retainer extends through the gap formed between the upright back rest and the seat and so far inclinedly forwards and upwards that by coupling the first retainer with the second retainer the child seat locates securely on the back rest and on the seat.
