MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A monitoring system and a method for controlling the same are provided to drive a camera by selecting an image displayed on a display unit, and to prevent the deterioration of definition even when enlarging a part of the image displayed on the display unit. CONSTITUTION: A driving unit(11) drives a camera(10). A display unit(20) displays an image shot by the camera(10). A pointing device(30) selects an optional position in the image of the display unit(20). A controller(40) controls the displacement of the camera(100), to make the selected position of the image positioned in a center of the display unit(20). The pointing device(30) provides a dragging function to move the optional position of the image to another position. And the controller(40) controls the displacement of the camera(10) to locate the image in the center of the display unit(20), according to the movement of the image from the optional position by the dragging function.
