PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly perform flow distribution in a header and to approximately make uniform the flow velocity of fluid flowing in each piece of hollow yarn. SOLUTION: In a hollow yarn module having hollow yarn bundles 2, a body case 1 housing the hollow yarn bundles 2, a partition wall 3 fixed with at least one end of the hollow yarn bundles 2 being opened, and a header member 4 surrounding the whole hollow yarn bundle opening surface formed on the outer surface of the partition wall 3 and fitted to the body case 1, the hollow yarn bundle opening surface formed on the outer surface of the partition wall 3 is formed into a polyangular pyramid or a circular cone. In this case, the height H of the polyangular pyramid or the circular cone is within the range indicated by the following formula: S/4<=H<=S-C where S = the height of the top of the flow distribution chamber in the header (mm), H = the height of the polyangular pyramid or circular cone (mm), and C = the height of the bottom surface of the flow distribution chamber in the header (mm). The hollow yarn module is used for purifying blood. |
