PURPOSE: To permit a driver to adopt a riding position which is maintainable for a long time, efficient, and easy by constituting the handlebar of a crosspiece with sideways portions connected to a bicycle steering post and extending from the bicycle steering post. CONSTITUTION: A handlebar 46 includes a crosspiece section 48, and a stem 34 is jointed at their central part by a stem clamp 50. The front handle portions 54 of the bars 46 are disposed so as to be apart a distance less than the width of the crosspiece section 48. By forming the portions 54 and the front loop portion 56, a rider is encouraged to adopt an easy riding position in which the frontal area is minimized. The portions 54 are disposed, when the rider R grips them, so as to be supported at a position where the rider's front arm F hangs over the section 48 by the bar 46. Therefore, front arm support mounts 74 are formed at the crosspiece of the bars 46, if necessary. The width W of the rider's silhouette is minimized by disposing the front arms or elbows so as to be relatively close together with each other, thus wind resistance is reduced. |
