PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR CARRYING OUT MONITORING AND MANAGEMENT FUNCTIONS IN NETWORKS WITH MONITORED COMPONENTS

A loading unit (C & CM) enables simple objects which consist of name and value to be loaded into a relational data base (REL-DB), so that applications can compile information by means of selection instructions (SQL-SELECT) in the SQL language according to their needs, even over several components. Since the description (META-DATA) of the simple objects is also loaded from a file (MIB+) into the relational data bank (REL-DB) for controlling the loading unit (C & CM), implementation can be totally independent of the definitions of the simple objects. An attribute can be added to the object definitions as an additional control function for influencing the loading unit (C & CM) as regards loading the management data (MGMT-DATA) required for a selection instruction (SQL-SELECT).
