摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding and working method and working device thereof by which an end face of a multi-conductor optical connector can be worked into a surface without burr and with high accuracy around an optical fiber insertion hole and the exact positioning can be performed for the optical fiber. SOLUTION: In this grinding method, a plastic member is ground by a grinding action of abrasive grain of a grinding pad 22 by revolving the grinding pad 22 having an abrasive grain surface as the surface of the grinding pad 22, revolving a surface to be ground of the plastic member around a shaft which is orthogonally crossed with the grinding pad 22 or oscillating the surface to be ground of the plastic member along the surface of the grinding pad 22, bringing the surface to be ground of the plastic member into contact with the surface of the grinding pad 22 and pressing the surface to he ground while grinding liquid is supplied to the surface of the revolving grinding pad 22. When a liquid-crystal polyester member is ground, grinding liquid in which the density of cresol is in a range of 20 to 50% is used. Because cresol mixed with grinding liquid and the liquid-crystal polyester member chemically react and melt generated burr, working with high accuracy is made possible.
