PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain normal photoelectric conversion in an optical subscriber containing device, to facilitate the design (configuration) of a photoelectric conversion section and to reduce a data error rate by varying a light receiving level of an optical burst signal sent from an optical subscriber depending on the length of an optical transmission line. SOLUTION: A transmission delay time measurement section 11 of an optical subscriber containing device 1 measures a transmission delay time in a transmission line at the time of subscriber control to optical subscriber devices 2, 3 and sends the information to the optical subscriber devices 2, 3 through a multiplexer section 12 and a photoelectric conversion section 13. A transmission delay time detection section 23 detects a transmission delay time from reception data outputted from a photoelectric conversion section 22 of the optical subscriber devices 2, 3. A phase control section 24 controls the phase in response to the transmission delay time. Furthermore, an optical variable amplifier 26 variably amplifies an incoming optical signal in response to the transmission delay time and sends the amplified signal to the optical subscriber containing device. The optical amplification factor in the optical variable amplifier 26 is varied depending on the quantity of the transmission delay time to make the light receiving level constant at a photoelectric conversion section 10 of the optical subscriber containing device 1. |
