The invention concerns an infrared lens which is designed for receiving and/or transmitting infrared radiation. The lens has radiation-directional surfaces calculated so that radiation directed towards the lens via the said radiation-directional surfaces can be directed towards a detector 200 on the lens' central axis, so that it would be possible to utilize the rays coming from the halfspace in front of the equipment, and in addition the reflection rays. The lens comprises at least one curved and, with advantage, one spherical surface which deflects rays, and a second surface which deflects radiation and lies at an angle α to the lens' central axis X which joins this surface so that the straight infrared rays coming from the transmission equipment, through the aforementioned second surface which deflects rays, can be directed to the detector 20,200. Additionally, the lens' central axis X can be deflected approximately 90 degrees from the straight line between the transmitter equipment and the receiver equipment detector. <IMAGE>
