<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid deterioration in the transmission quality of a light signal caused by reflected waves on the end face of an optical waveguide in an optical space communication unit in an optical space communication device. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical space communication unit U1 of the optical space communication device, an end face opposite to a collimating lens U12 of the optical waveguide U14 that is the edge of an optical fiber F1 is formed in a non-vertical direction to an optical axis, and formation is performed so that an incident angle to a cladding section from the core section of the reflected waves on the end face of the optical waveguide becomes not more than a critical angle, thus allowing the reflected waves to leak to the cladding section from the core section of the optical waveguide U14 for attenuation, and preventing the deterioration in the transmission quality of the light signal in the optical space communication. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
