This ultrasonic observation device generates synthesised images by synthesising a plurality of ultrasonic images generated on the basis of echo signals which are ultrasonic echoes converted into electrical signals, said ultrasonic echoes being caused by ultrasonic waves transmitted to an object to be observed that are reflected by the object to be observed. The ultrasonic observation device comprises: a frame memory which stores a plurality of ultrasonic images along a time sequence; a frame memory correlation unit which detects the movement amount and the movement direction which are a three-dimensional correlation of ultrasonic images, from among the plurality of ultrasonic images stored by the frame memory, of past frames relative to the ultrasonic image of a most recent frame; a frame memory position correction unit which moves the relative positions of the ultrasonic images of the past frames on the basis of the three-dimensional movement amount and movement direction; and a weighted addition unit which weights the ultrasonic images of the past frames on the basis of the three-dimensional movement amount. |
