PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and excellently form an image on a large-sized transfer material by executing the driving control of a driving device and a carrying mechanism for a transfer material at fixed timing when forming the image on the transfer material obtained by joining integer number sheets of prescribed-size transfer materials to each other. SOLUTION: When an image is formed on a transfer paper P of three sheets of A-4 size, first, an image forming process for the breadth of the leading A-4 size paper is executed and a full color image is transferred to the large-sized transfer paper P sent from a manual feeding tray 13. At this time, in a state where resist rollers 9A and 9B are stopped, paper feeding rollers 12A and 12B are rotated forward and the transfer paper P sent from the manual feeding tray 13 is stopped in the nipping part between the resist rollers 9A and 9B. Further, the driving device 24 is actuated to return a transfer unit 5 and a guiding member 23 to positions for transferring from positions for nontransferring. Then, the forward rotary driving of the resist rollers 9A and 9B is started at the timing when the top end of an untransferred full color image is reached to a transferring position to perform the transfer from an intermediate transfer belt 4 to the transfer paper P. |
