PURPOSE:To obtain a satisfactory white-and-black picture when a color picture is photographed, by prescribing colors corresponding to signal levels in case of color display of an autoradiograph. CONSTITUTION:A digital signal having n-number of gradations corresponding to the autoradiograph is subjected to a prescribed operation and is divided at least into four stages. They are classified by color to have one color among primary colors of black, red, green, and royal purple, a mixed color of two colors among primary colors of red, green, and royal purple, and the mixed color of three colors out of primary colors of red, green, and royal purple in the order of signal level from the highest signal level. Thus, a white-and-black picture having the variable density corresponding to the gradations of the digital signal is obtained at the time of a white-and-black photographing.
