PURPOSE: To make the same suction catheter capable of being securely introduced into the right lung and the left lung by a predetermined method by forming a distal end region of the suction catheter in approximately corrugated W-shape in the longitudinal direction of the suction catheter. CONSTITUTION: A distal end region 2 is corrugated over the length of L up to the end 13. The corrugation is applied to one plane and approximately W- shaped. The wave is weakened as approaching the distal end 13, i.e., the amplitude of the wave decrease. A longitudinal axis 15 of the wave is inclined slightly to the longitudinal axis 11 of the suction catheter 1 at an angle ofβ. And it is introduced into the lungs 32, 33 passing through a trachea 3 with the corrugated distal end. The path is divided into two above a divergence 31 where the right lung 32 and the left lung 33 are separated. When it is inserted following the arrow, the suction catheter is introduced through the divergence into the left lung 33 or the right lung 32 inevitably guided by how the corrugated end region 2 of the catheter 1 is guided and held.
