PURPOSE:To mill barley so as to be useful for e.g., special nutritive beverages, without changing the inherent properties of barley by evenly successive abrasive grinding little by little of barley grains not subjected to warming, humidification and pressurization. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus so designed that the upper part of a vertical roller with a mesh of 60-80 made up of grinding wheel is so formed as to be larger in diameter, while the lower part smaller in diameter, and annular grooves are provided between them, and said roller is surrounded by a cylindrical form with a space, is charged with barley grains not subjected to warming, humidification and pressurization followed by revolving said roller at 500-900rpm to produce a mixture of barley grains and barley flour. This mixture is screened into barley grains and barley flour, the former being fed into the above apparatus again. The process mentioned above is repeated, thus accomplishing the objective milling. |
