PURPOSE:To improve adhesion property between a substrate and a protective layer or recording layer without damaging the surface form of the substrate by subjecting the surface of the substrate to oxygen plasma treatment. CONSTITUTION:The substrate 1 is subjected to oxygen plasma treatment, on which a lower protective layer 2, magneto-optical recording layer 3 and upper protective layer 4 are formed by using an instrument to form thin films. The protective layer formed on the plasma-treated substrate shows good adhesion with the substrate. Since no affect is given on guide grooves, etc., provided on the substrate, deterioration of characteristics such as focusing or tracking servo performance is not caused. Thereby, the obtd. medium has higher environmental resistance. |
