The loom has two needle beds, respectively carrying two groups of needles for knitting according to the knocked over at once mode. The two needle beds are rotationally driven in synchronism past two respective cam paths which entrain the needles in knitting stroke cycles by sliding over themselves, passing successively through a threading point (E, E') a locking point (V, V') and a knock over point (A, A'), the knock over points (A, A') of the cycles of the two groups of needles being substantially angularly coincident during the rotation of the needle beds. At the threading point, one thread is thrown over the needles of one of the needle beds and two over the needles of the other needle bed. The locking points (V') in the cycles of the needles for knitting with one thread are advanced with respect to the locking points (V) of the cycles of the needles for knitting with two threads, by virtue of locking cams associated with the knocking-over cams of the path of the cams for the needles for knitting with one thread. <IMAGE>
