A control is disclosed for a roller table (18) that has at least one roller group (32, 32', 32'') that can be individually switched. The control has switching means (26, 26', 26'') for at least one of the roller groups (32, 32', 32'') for automatically switching the roller group (32, 32', 32'') on and off. The switching means include an inductive sensor (28) that detects the passage of a metallic mass (22). Also disclosed is a process for controlling a roller table (18) subdivided into several roller groups (32, 32', 32'') that can be individually switched. This process allows a metallic mass to be accurately positioned at a determined point of the roller table (18), as the various roller groups (32, 32', 32'') can be selectively and automatically switched on. The position of the metallic mass depends on its format. |
