PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image with high quality and a sense of less roughness where textures are uniformized regardless of conducting multi-value error spread processing. SOLUTION: The image processing unit is provided with an error spread processing section 10 that applies error spread processing whose quantization level is more than 3 to input image data x (i, j) to provide an output and with an error spread processing section 20 that applies error spread processing whose quantization level is more than 3 to output image data of the error spread processing section 10 to provide an output of image data y (i, j). The quantization level of the error spread processing section 20 is set to a desired level and the quantization level of the error spread processing section 10 is set to a median of each quantization level of a quantizer 22, a minimum level of the input image data x (i, j) or a maximum level of the input image data x (i, j). |
