摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding nozzle which sufficiently withstands molten steel casting of aluminum killed steel, silicon killed steel, high-oxygen steel, stainless steel, steel for electrical steel sheets, calcium treated steel, high-manganese steel, free-cutting steel, boron steel, steel cords, case hardening steel, high- titanium steel, etc. without damage, and prevents are contamination of the molten steel and carbon pick-up by refractory materials and allows the stable flow rate control of the molten steel. SOLUTION: This sliding nozzle is a molding obtained by adding a binder in a range of 1 to 15 mass% in outer percentage to a compound, which is obtained by regulating spinal raw material whose essential component is magnesia alumina to over 96 mass% and below 100 mass% and carbon raw material within a range below 4 mass% (not inclusive of zero), or this spinel raw material, then subjecting the mixture to kneading, molding and drying followed or not followed by firing in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. The residual carbon rate of the molding is within a range from 0.01 to 4 mass%.
