STACK GAS DESULFURIZATION PROCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stack gas desulfurization process capable of effectively removing a nitrogen-sulfur compound(NS compound) giving adverse effect on desulfurization performance and decreasing COD components due to iodine ion in a liquid absorbent, which changes with the kind of coal. SOLUTION: The stack gas desulfurization process by a wet lime method for treating a waste gas containing sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides includes a solid/liquid separation process for taking out a part of the absorbent slurry and solid/liquid separating, a mixing process for adjusting the pH of the filtrate from the solid/liquid separation process and adding an oxidizing agent and a process for allowing the liquid mixture to contact with activated carbon.
