To suppress the increase in power consumption and the degradation of reception characteristic that can be caused by mounting a multi-path interference removing apparatus. The multi-path interference removing apparatus is activated only in cases where a mobile communication terminal is in a communication state; communication is performed via a base station to which an adaptive modulation/demodulation and error correction encoding technique is applied; the number of reception paths of the mobile communication terminal is equal to or greater than two; the movement speed of the mobile communication terminal is equal to or less than 60 km/h; and where the power ratio of desired wave to interference wave is equal to or greater than 8 dB.
