PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compound being an ultraviolet-absorbing compound that is useful as a heat-sensitive recording body showing excellent light resistance of its images and exposed parts and record-running properties. SOLUTION: This compound is represented by formula I [W is an imino, 0; Y is H, a 1-6C alkyl, R1 CO (R1 is a 1-6C alkyl, aryl); Z is H, a 1-6C alkyl or alkoxy, a (2-7C acyl-containing) amino, a halogen], typically 4,4'-bis(4-(2H- benzotriazol-2-yl)-3-hydroxyphenoxycarbonylamino)diphenyl-methane. The compound of the formula I is prepared by reaction of two molar equivalent amount of a triazole of formula II (W' is an amino or hydroxyl group) with one molar equivalent amount of 4,4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate. |
