<p>The grounding switch, for HV equipment, has a first arm (14) which is pivoted about a fixed point (13) and there is a crank arm (10) which is pivoted about another fixed point (9) both arms are connected to the grounding knife contact (3). The crank arm is pivoted by a drive mechanism (2). In the 'off' position, the crank arm is roughly perpendicular to the grounding contact and the first arm lies outside the dead point. The two fixed pivot points for the first arm and the crank arm are on the same fixed support (12). The system is reliable in action.</p> |
