FIELD: oil pollution removal. SUBSTANCE: sorbent contains (i) mixture of fractions of C<SB>9</SB>-C<SB>17</SB>-, C<SB>18</SB>-C<SB>21</SB>- and C<SB>22</SB>-C<SB>27</SB>-alkylcarboxylic acids at weight ratio form 0.2:1:1 to 2:3:7 in combination with hydrophobic component of the type of alkylcarboxylic acid esters with general formula RCOOR' where R' is C<SB>1</SB>-C<SB>8</SB>-alkyl and R is C<SB>8</SB>-C<SB>16</SB>-, C<SB>17</SB>-C<SB>20</SB>- or C<SB>21</SB>-C<SB>28</SB>-alkyl, and (ii) nonwoven fibrous natural or synthetic material, into with reinforcing and antishrinking components are additionally incorporated. Reinforcing components are preferably thermoplastic polymer and glass-cloth elements, polymer composites based on organosilicon compound with oriented fibers, and glass-cloth laminates.
