An apparatus for internal combustion engines of the type which have an air supply throttle (2). The apparatus consists of a piston (4) sliding in a chamber (3), a first duct (5) which is connected to the first space (3a) in the chamber on the one side of the piston (4) and designed so that this chamber space (3a) is passed a low pressure corresponding to the low pressure in the engine's (1) induction duct's (6) downstream throttle (2). The apparatus further consists of a second duct (7) connected to the chamber for the provision of secondary air to the engine's (1) downstream throttle (2) and a third duct (8) which is connected to a second chamber space (3b) on the other side of the piston (4) and which receives air from the outside. The piston (4) is fitted with at least one transverse channel (11), which when the piston is moved to a initial end position by the force of the spring (10) overcoming the effect of the low pressure in the first chamber space (3a), is designed to couple the third duct (8) with the second duct (7) so that a maximum throughput of air to the engine's downstream throttle occurs. The piston (4) is further designed to allow a basic flow of air through its channel (11) when the piston (4), because of the low pressure in the first chamber (3a) against the effect of the spring (10) is moved to the other end position, which itself is fixed by a stop (12) and which is adjustable by means of this stop (12).<IMAGE> |
