PURPOSE:To attain the use efficiency of an ink ribbon by suppressing the irregularity in the density of printing and the contamination of printing paper, by providing a control part changing the running speed of the ink ribbon upon the reception of the signal from a dot density detection part. CONSTITUTION:A dot density detection part 2 detects the dot density of data to be printed from a printing control part 1 and sends the signal corresponding to the dot density thereof to an ink ribbon running speed control part. Further, the ink ribbon running speed control part 3 controls an ink ribbon driving part 4 on the basis of said signal to change the running speed of the ink ribbon. Therefore, the running speed of the ink ribbon can be changed corresponding to the dot density of printing and, as a result, the irregularity in the density of printing is reduced and the contamination of printing paper is suppressed and, further, the ink ribbon can be used efficiently. |
