PURPOSE:To facilitate trouble analytic processing by reading trouble detail information out of a trouble position display latch to a CPU by a service processor independently of trouble reporting processing. CONSTITUTION:A channel processor CHP 3 has individual parts 8 which control channel CH parts 4 individually and cyclically and a common part 9 which processes processing requests generated by respective CH parts at any time and the 1st trouble processing part 15 reports troubles occurring at individual parts 8 to the CPU 2 as CH troubles and troubles which occur at the common part 9 and allow CHs in operation to be specified as CH troubles. When CHs where troubles occur can not be specified, the 2nd trouble processing part 16 considers that all CHs in operation under the control of the common part 9 are in CH troubles and when troubles overlap each other, that is reported to the CPU 2 as a serious trouble. Then when no other trouble occurs during the trouble of one CH, normal processing is carried on without exerting any influence upon the operation of other CHs. Further, detailed trouble information is read out of the trouble position display latch 17 by the service processor SVP 6 independently of said normal processing to analyze the trouble.
