PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which speedily and highly accurately determines a density target value by a density sensor. SOLUTION: The device performs a process (S101-S106) for forming on an image carrier first - third standard patches with the light intensity of a laser exposure unit set at a weak level, an intermediate level, and an intense level, respectively, a process (S107-S109) for measuring the densities of the first - third standard patches by means of a density sensor, and a process (S110 and S111) for transferring and fixing the first - third standard patches onto paper. The device further performs a process for measuring the densities of the patches fixed on the paper, and a process for determining the density target value by the density sensor based on information on the densities of the patches before and after the fixing. |
