A process is disclosed for laying ceramic tile and natural stone coverings in weather and humidity protected areas by means of a non-woven and of a thin mortar bath for fixing the ceramic tile or natural stone coverings on the non-woven. Webs of non-woven are directly laid on the previously cleaned substrate surface, side by side, and the joints between the ceramic tile or natural stone coverings are then pointed in a known manner according to a thin bath process, without bonding to the adjacent construction elements.
