PURPOSE: An overheat cutoff device of a degaussing coil is provided to install a hear sensor for sensing heat generated in the degaussing coil, and to detect a heat resistance value sensed from the heat sensor to automatically cut off alternating current(AC) supplied to the degaussing coil by switching a relay, so that a heat cutoff circuit can be permanently operated even after abnormal overheat is generated. CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer(11) outputs a signal controlling a degaussing operation. A first switching element(Q11) is turned on/off according to the control signal of the microcomputer(11). A relay(12) supplies/cuts off alternating current(AC) degaussing current by on/off of the first switching element(Q11). A degaussing coil(13) degausses a screen with the AC degaussing current supplied from the relay(12). A positive temperature coefficient(PTC,PTC11) reduces current supplied to the degaussing coil(13) through the relay(12). A heat sensor(PTC12) installed in the degaussing coil(13) senses generated heat. A comparator(14) detects a heat resistance value sensed from the heat sensor(PTC12), to output a signal for controlling the relay(12). A second switching element(Q12) turns on/off the relay(12) according to an output signal of the comparator(14).
