A sanitiser unit 1 comprises a drainage surface 5 and a sanitising element 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19. The sanitiser unit is adapted to receive an absorbent cleaning material 4, such as a sponge or dishcloth, between the drainage surface and the sanitising element and to squeeze the absorbent cleaning material between the drainage surface and the sanitising element. Preferably, the sanitising element comprises a container 14 which releases a sanitising agent 15, which can be in the form of liquid or gel. An actuator 17, such as a push-button, may release a dose of the sanitising agent. The sanitising agent may comprise a disinfectant and/or a fragrance. A drainage surface can be supported in a hollow base (2, Fig. 1) and the unit may further comprise a lid (3, Fig. 1) adapted to engage with the base. The base may comprise a reservoir (20, Fig. 4) for collecting moisture drained from the absorbent cleaning material. |
