PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and a developer amount detecting system capable of informing a user of developer amount more simply. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with a developer storage part 4 in which developer T for developing a latent image formed on an image carrier 1 is stored, a developer amount detecting means 6 capable of successively outputting a signal in accordance with the developer amount in the storage part 4, a means 32 for converting a detection signal from the detecting means 6 into a display signal for displaying the developer amount and a means 32 for updating the display signal only in a specified unit in one direction.
