PURPOSE:To dehydrate and solidify sludge and sewage by dispersing water absorptive high-polymer gel lumps into high moisture-content sludge, passing the same through a sieving device and sieving the mixture to the dehydrated sludge and the water-absorbed high-polymer gel lumps. CONSTITUTION:The high moisture-content sludge 2 and the water absorptive high-polymer gel lumps 3 are thrown into a bucket 1 and are dispersed and mixed. The mixture 5 composed thereof is transferred into a pipe conveyor 6. The lumps 3 expand in the conveyor 6 and dehydrate the sludge around the same by compressing the sludge while increasing the volume. The mixture composed of the dehydrated sludge 10 and the water-absorbed high-polymer gel lumps 9 is separated to the water-absorbed high-polymer gel lumps 9 and the dehydrated sludge 10 on a mesh conveyor 8. The falling dehydrated sludge 10 is mixed with cement 11 and is solidified by a device 12. The water-absorbed high-polymer gels 9 on the conveyor 8 are returned to the high-polymer gel lumps 14 by a high-polymer gel lump dehydrating and regenerating device 13.
