PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemically active electrode material, an electrode, and a method of manufacturing an electrode.SOLUTION: The electrochemically active electrode material includes a template 306 with a large surface area including metal silicide, and a layer 308 of a high-capacity active material deposited on the template. The template supports the active material mechanically and/or electrically connects between the active material and the substrate, for example. Since the template has a large surface area, a sufficient amount of active material can be included even if the active material layer is thin, and the sufficient battery capacity can be achieved. The thickness of the layer is maintained less than a breakdown threshold of the active material to be used, and the structure integration is maintained in the battery cycle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3A |
