PURPOSE: To provide a means that reduces abrasion of top part and groove part of pleat of a flexible protective bellows surrounding a transmission shaft and a universal joint of vehicles and makes the bellows tightly contact with the shaft and the joint. CONSTITUTION: The pleats 16A, 16C, 16E arranged at an interval of one space in a bellows have the shapes different from the 16B, 16D, and 16F existing between them, so abrasions of top parts 22 can be reduced when the bellows is compressed. A loop 345 is formed at groove parts 24 of the bellows, so the abrasion while the bellows is stretched is reduced. Furthermore, for making the bellows tightly contact with the ditch 18 formed in housing 14 of a universal joint, many means are taken in, and a ring with teeth thereon for measurement velocity of ABC system of vehicles is also taken in. |
