PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to automatically switch a conversion mode. SOLUTION: Through conversion processing, a conversion mode selecting means 16 acquires a conversion mode previously stored in a document 24 to be processed by a character string processor 22 through the character string processor 22. The conversion mode stored in the document 24 is a conversion mode which enables efficient conversion in consideration of a converted character string inputted to the document 24. The conversion mode selecting means 16 sends indications to a Roman character/KANA(Japanese syllabary) converting means 6, a paragraph generating means 10, a paragraph candidate selecting means 14, etc., according to the obtained conversion mode. Consequently, the character string conversion device 2 automatically changes the mode to an efficient conversion mode and performs conversion processing. |
